The Birth of Moms in Tech

Ever wonder what happens when a tech-savvy mom realizes her support network is as empty as her second cup of coffee of the morning? In June 2017, Linda Xiong, a product manager at Meta and new mom, had that exact epiphany. Juggling toddler tantrums and tech product timelines, she noticed a glaring gap: there were no communities for moms in tech, especially those with kids beyond the newborn stage.

Enter Darci Groves, a UX leader at Apple, who was equally passionate about creating a space she needed as a mother to a young child. Together, they launched Moms in Tech, a community designed to support women navigating the unique challenges of motherhood and careers in technology.

Fast forward eight years, and the group has blossomed into a vibrant network of over 18,000 members worldwide that it is today. From finding the perfect stroller or teacher’s gift to landing a new job or rediscovering personal purpose, Mints (as they're affectionately called) support each other through it all.

What sets Mints apart? Our community is run entirely by a dedicated volunteer team, ensuring that we remain authentic, inclusive, and, most importantly, supportive. Whether you're seeking advice, sharing experiences, or simply need a virtual pep talk, this group has your back.

So, if you're a mom in tech looking for a community that “gets it,” join our movement. Because in this unique intersection of technology and motherhood, you're never alone.
